Vale Barry Phillips

Dear Marj and the Phillips family,

On behalf of all of us at the Loch Sport boat Club we wish to let you know how deeply saddened we are of the news of Barry Phillips passing.

Barry was a critical part of our club and the reason behind so much of the club’s success over many years.

Barry was a very capable sailor who loved the sport with a passion, he was a keen racer, was a mentor with a wealth of information to share with other members.

Barry certainly put the time and effort into the boat club, serving on the committee as secretary from 2002 to 2015.

Barry was a qualified sailing instructor; was involved in training kids and adults of all ages over many years.

Barry was heavily involved with the building of the club rooms and ongoing maintenance of the club boats.

Barry was one of the most thoughtful individuals we have had the privilege of sharing the boat club with.

We will all miss him deeply. Know that all of us at Loch Sport Boat Club are here for you and your family during this time.

In Barry’s honour, we will be flying our club flag at half-mast.
