PULSE CREDIT LOCH SPORT LAKES CHALLENGE

The anticipated strong winds which placed much doubt on the event happening did not eventuate in fact for most of the race it was very calm and the blow waited till the middle of the night to arrive.

From the 13 entries received these are the winners

Division 2 winners

3^rd  Gary Doggett LSBC Magnum “Champagne Charlie”

Special  Awards went to Tub Thumper who despite the calm water managed to round up and get the deck wet.

Beez Neez who passed the start line long after the others on his own but managed to collide with the start boat.

Canadian Mist who finished the race then the motor wouldn’t start and required a tow.

Blue Pearl  our sponsors boat  who was last across the finish line within minutes of the sunset clause.

A Great days racing with a friendly evening around the BBQ and bar for those who didn’t  leave for home.

SAILING EVENT LSLC

PULSE CREDIT UNION LOCH SPORT LAKES CHALLENGE     LSLC 2010

This event will be conducted on Saturday 24 April 2010. It is a 30 to 40 km event on Lake Victoria for: Keelboats, Cruising Multihulls, Trailable Yachts, plus a Cruising Division (no spinnakers). The entire event takes place in daylight hours with good $$$ voucher prizes. Entry fee is $20. So come on all you sailors who like to cruise, bring your boat out and cruise the course, you have got until sunset to finish and who knows, you may enjoy it. A BBQ and presentations at the clubhouse will follow. This is an event which has hugely increased in popularity since it was first introduced and is on its way to becoming a major sailing event on the lakes. YVONNE Y20 NATIONAL CHAMPIONSHIPS

YVONNE Y20 NATIONAL TITLES 2007 2008 were held at Loch Sport on Lake Victoria in good conditions, all 7 races were completed over the event.

These catamarans were a great sight with their spinnakers flying.

“Hi Tech” sail no Y522 Skipper Jeff Payne who traveled from Western Australia with took out the trophy for another year.   “Kinetic” sail no Y531 skipper  P Hawkins from South Australia with crew from Loch Sport Reinier Lolkema came 2^nd and 3^rd place was declared a tie between “Assegai” from Loch Sport and Frankston YC Paul DeLange and brother Rod DeLange on “Hot Pies” Frankston Yacht Club.  4 craft traveled from Western Australia with 4 from South Australia and others from around Victoria.

2007 Grand final Day

There was a great turn up at the clubrooms for the 2007 AFL Grand Final to watch Geelong break its 44 year drought by defeating [annihilating] Port Adelaide. Of course there was overwhelming support from our (mainly) Victorians for Geelong and lots of cheering for the many goals. A fantastic atmosphere prevailed with a little punt on the outcomes, pies at half time and a little tippling at the bar.

RL24 National Titles

The Loch Sport Boat club has held a number of successful RL24 National Championships in recent years.

Sail Training

The Loch Sport Boat Club has run its own Sail Training Program over recent years and many young and 'older' people have become sailors in this fantastic program.
