YVONNE Y20 NATIONAL CHAMPIONSHIPS

YVONNE Y20 NATIONAL TITLES 2007 2008 were held at Loch Sport on Lake Victoria in good conditions, all 7 races were completed over the event.

These catamarans were a great sight with their spinnakers flying.

“Hi Tech” sail no Y522 Skipper Jeff Payne who traveled from Western Australia with took out the trophy for another year.   “Kinetic” sail no Y531 skipper  P Hawkins from South Australia with crew from Loch Sport Reinier Lolkema came 2nd and 3rd place was declared a tie between “Assegai” from Loch Sport and Frankston YC Paul DeLange and brother Rod DeLange on “Hot Pies” Frankston Yacht Club.  4 craft traveled from Western Australia with 4 from South Australia and others from around Victoria.

2007 Grand final Day

There was a great turn up at the clubrooms for the 2007 AFL Grand Final to watch Geelong break its 44 year drought by defeating [annihilating] Port Adelaide. Of course there was overwhelming support from our (mainly) Victorians for Geelong and lots of cheering for the many goals. A fantastic atmosphere prevailed with a little punt on the outcomes, pies at half time and a little tippling at the bar.
