Safe Harbour

NEW JETTY SOON TO BE BUILT

Gippsland Ports will be constructing a new Deepwater Mooring Jetty at Charles St.  This is a start to the Safe Harbour project, we may wait many years for a breakwater and swing or other moorings.

Attached is the media release from Giipsland Ports

Safe Harbour in Loch Sport-The LSBC has put forward a proposal to Wellington Shire to form a Safe Harbour at the deep water jetty area, this could be built in stages starting with a rock groyne at Lerna Point to increase the small protected area, then extend this to protect the existing Deep Water Jetty and the boat ramp.

A Probability is maybe later mooring jetties could be installed for visiting boats or permanent moorings at a fee.  This fee would be necessary to upkeep the harbour infrastructure.  This is not feasable at the moment

2010 Update - Gippsland Ports will rebuild the existing Deep Water Mooring Jetty in the next few years when funds become available
