The LOCH SPORT POKER RUN ON THE GIPPSLAND LAKES was again a very enjoyable family day, although strong winds kept the course to the Loch Sport side of Lake Victoria. 22 boats set out with a yacht amongst the power boats, over 100 people attended the evenings celebrations at the Lochsport Boat Club.

The entrants travelled past the jetty at 11 am, Gavin and Anna Roberts & family of Stratford won the award for the “Best presented crew “ with a Star wars theme, an honourable mention to Chris Parker & family with a “Spice Girls” theme.

“Best presented boat” to Steve Lawless & family with a “Flower power” hippy theme, an honourable mention to Ian Johnston & crew “Valentines day” theme and Barry McCrimmon and crew aboard their “Pirates” boat.

Lunchtime games at Point Wilson Spermwhale Head included a “thong” Toss And honeymooners dress up race. Thanks to Gavin and Anna for orgainising this.

The serious part of the day was the draw of the 5^th card to add to the 4 already collected in envelopes around the course, some entries already having pairs on the board.   

A 2^nd Jack to boat 8 looked like the winner of the best hand, then boat 20 thought they had it in the bag with a 2^nd ace, and ended up 2^nd best hand, then the winner of the “Best Poker Hand” drew the last card of the evening another 3 to add to the pair of 3’s for Janine from boat 17. 

An enjoyable Valentines day outing for many, with meals supplied all day and live music to round out the evening.
