Where is Loch Sport?

Loch Sport is on the southern shore of Lake Victoria on the Gippsland Lakes. Loch Sport is surrounded by Coastal Parks and adjacent to the Lakes National Park which creates a unique natural waterfront environment all around the lakeside town.

 

The town also has a Marina, Hotel, RSL, Caravan Park, Bakery, Motel, Numerous Holiday Acomodation & a number of Take Away shops and Service Stations and other attactions.

 

Loch Sport is around 2½-3 hours drive from Melbourne via Traralgon then Sale via the Princes Highway.

Melbourne to Loch Sport Directions:

  • Head east out of Melbourne on the  M1-Princes Fwy towards Dandenong
  • Bypass Dandenong (stay on M1)
  • Pass through Pakenham (stay on M1)
  • Bypass Warragul (stay on M1)
  • Pass through Trafalgar (stay on M1)
  • Bypass Morwell (stay on M1)
  • Pass through Traralgon (M1 becomes A1-Princes Highway)
  • Pass through Rosedale then head for Sale or direct to Longford (The Road to Sale is safer and in better condition, but a bit longer)
  • If you went through sale then head out of Sale South on the Gippsland Hwy towards Longford
  • Turn Left on the Loch Sport Turn off at Longford which is 7 kms south of Sale
  • Travel 25kms then Turn Left again at the Loch Sport Turn off instead of heading straight into Golden Beach
  • Follow the road for another 26 kms and you will be in Loch Sport.

Note: Please take care from Rosedale onwards as Kangaroos and other wildlife are ALWAYS along the roadway and will jump/run onto the road without warning.
