ANOTHER FUN EVENT FOR 2010

The LOCH SPORT POKER RUN ON THE GIPPSLAND LAKES held last Saturday was again a very enjoyable family day, although strong winds kept the course to the Loch Sport side of Lake Victoria. 17 boats set out with a yacht amongst the power boats, over 100 people attended the evenings celebrations at the Lochsport Boat Club.  Every entry received a showbag of goodies.  The entrants travelled past the jetty at 11 am, Chris and Sharna Parker and family from Camberwell won the award for the “Best presented crew “ with a “Cowboy” theme. “Best presented boat” went to Steve and Deirdre Lawless & family from Traralgon with a “Clown ” theme  Our family from the Stratford Courthouse Theatre Gavin and Anna Roberts and boys were really in the theme of the day with a “Swat” theme.  Participants use a flyswat to show their entry number to pick up their envelopes.  Many received prizes just for adding to the event with their outfits.

Winner on board Quiz – Barry Mansfield from Newborough

Winner “kids” quiz – Cannard family from Waterways.

Lunchtime games at Point Wilson Spermwhale Head were very exciting with lots of giveaways for having a try.  Many arrived a little wet because of the weather.

The serious part of the day was the draw of the 5th card to add to the 4 already collected in envelopes around the course, some entries already having pairs on the board.

Boat 13 Steve and Jayne on a Castle 650 yacht collected a 10 to add to the 2 already in their second hand collecting $1000 in store gift cards. 2 pairs for boat 1 Cannard family gave them 2nd place and 2 aces and a King and Queen scored a third place for boat 14 Graeme Carey of Loch Sport

An enjoyable days outing for many, with meals supplied all day and live music to round out the evening.   Thanks to the sponsors and volunteers for a great event with the Wellington shire jumping castle being a hit with the children.
