The Road Cruise to Dargo 19th to 21st May was very enjoyable for the 14 people who ventured away to stay in the Cabin or Camp at the Dargo River Inn. Beautiful camp fires were provided in front of the cabin with much conversation and many stories leaving never a dull moment, we even ignored how cold it was.

The annual “Loch Sport Poker run on the Gippsland Lakes" run by the Loch Sport Boat Club was held on Saturday 24 March. Despite the wet start to the day entrants declared that the day happened far better than they imagined when they awoke to the bleak wintry weather and general consensus was that "we will be back next year".

The Poker Run held on Saturday 25th February was a great success with 25 boats traveling the course to pick up their secret cards in envelopes, with lunch at Pt Wilson catered by the Loch Sport Red Cross.

The Loch sport Boat club annual sail past the Commodore: with due respect to the commodore Jamie Lyth the members motored past in elegant procession but after that a very nice warm day turned into a water fight.

The LSBC has put forward a proposal to wellington shire to form a Safe Harbour at the deep water jetty area, this would be built in stages starting with a rock groyne at Lerna Point to increase the small protected area, then extend this to protect the existing DW jetty and the boat ramp.

Sunday March 12th the club members gathered at the Clubrooms and were sent of on a treasure hunt to find 2 buoys in the water with general directions. These buoys were easy to spot in the flat water, they had a hint printed on them and we had to guess the mystery person before we reached our destination.

Easter Sunday was a great success with Peter running another fantastic family Navigation event in 2 parts.
The time estimation leg was won by Trevor 'Carrier Pigeon' Jones who proves once again his inate ability to navigate without instraments over water proves he must have carrier pigeons in his family tree.

Well, we had a busy Easter in Loch Sport this year. Trevor & I raced Reflections in all 5 Heats of the Easter Series and I am very happy with the results. Congratulations to Neil in Breezin and Barry in Time Bandit.

Crew on trailer sailers are always welcome, especially someone who has attended our learn to sail sessions. You can learn in your own dinghy or in the clubs’ Mirror dinghies under the supervision of our “Yachting Australia” qualified instructors.

The LSBC fleet at Bunga Arm - The Grange Jetty, early morning for Casper, Ikara, Havana Bay, Lady Victoria, Lorna C. some people were up. Great time for the crews on board, BBQ tea in the picnic area, lots of talk and a late night, very busy area at this time of year, some travelled home Sunday some headed for Paynesville.

The Commodore of Latrobe Valley Yacht Club has advised that the GISOR Eastern Region Regatta that was to be conducted on the Hazelwood pondage this month has been postponed to the resail dates of 20-21 March 2004. Blue Green Algae levels are still too high to remove warning signs. We hope to be able to sail in March. If this is not possible the regatta will be relocated to Lake Wellington Yacht Club.
