Pulse Credit Union Loch Sport Lakes Challenge
Submitted By Kaye - 12/11/2009 8:52 pm
HOT LIGHT CONDITITIONS For the start of the Pulse Credit Union Loch Sport Lakes Challenge, the competitors took over an hour to reach the first mark at Storm Point. Then a 10 knot sea breeze kicked in and the big Corsair trimaran took off and left everybody behind, the rest of the fleet had a spinnaker run to the Holland's Landing Mark. On the windward work the fleet had a neck and neck battle until the Magnum 8 and the Castle 650 were forced to change headsails in the strengthening breeze, costing them valuable time. It was follow the leader up to Pelican Point mark, a spinnaker run to Storm Point mark and a windward work back to the finish line a strong sea breeze. BBQ and presentations followed that evening, capping off a great day. Thanks to our sponsors, Pulse Credit Union and Kel Warham for their sponsorship. Kel announced at the presentations that they are happy to sponsor the event again next year. This will be held on Saturday 24th April 2010.
