Weather Situation
A cold front will reach southwest Victoria late Friday morning. As the front
crosses the State, a low pressure system will form near Tasmania. The low is
expected to deepen significantly off the southeast coast of Victoria during
Saturday and early Sunday before moving away to the east Sunday night. A narrow
ridge of high pressure will move across Victoria on Monday.
Forecast for Friday until midnight
Winds: West to southwesterly 10 to 15 knots tending south to southwesterly
during the afternoon then tending south to southeasterly 10 to 15 knots by
early evening then tending south to southwesterly later in the evening.
Forecast for Saturday
Winds: West to southwesterly 5 to 15 knots tending westerly 15 to 20 knots
around dawn then tending west to southwesterly 20 to 30 knots during the
morning then becoming southwesterly 25 to 35 knots during the afternoon.
Isolated thunderstorms with hail in the afternoon and evening.
Forecast for Sunday
Winds: South to southwesterly 25 to 35 knots decreasing below 30 knots during
the evening.
Forecast for Monday
Winds: Southwesterly 5 to 10 knots tending south to southeasterly up to 20
knots during the afternoon then tending east to southeasterly during the
evening.
